Eudaimona is a Greek Goddess of happiness, prosperity and opulence.

Genealogy and Family[]

She may have been a daughter of Zeus and Eurynome, but there are no solid sources to confirm this.

Role and Significance[]

A lesser known minor goddess, she presides over happiness, prosperity and opulence, she was one of a bevy of beautiful young goddesses that formed the retinue of Aphrodite (as depicted in ancient Greek vase painting). She is also considered to be a Grace.

Trivia[]

Her name can also be spelt as Eudaemonia.

Eudaemonia/Eudaimonia/Eudemonia is a Greek word literally translating to the state or condition of 'good spirit', it is commonly translated to 'happiness' or 'welfare'. The term 'Eudaemonia' was also used for a moral Happiness concept in Ancient Greece and is better known for this than the goddess. In the works of Aristotle, eudaimonia was the term for the highest human good in older Greek tradition. It is the aim of practical philosophy-prudence, including ethics and political philosophy, to consider and experience what this state really is and how it can be achieved.
