Hygeia (also refered to as Hygieia or Hygiea) is the goddess of good health, cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene and a member of The Asclepiades, according


to Greek Mythology.

Genealogy and Family[]

Hygeia is one of the daughters of Asclepius, the Olympian god of healing, medicine, rejuvenations and physicians and Epione, a goddess possibly of the care needed in recovery. She has five sisters, Panacea, Aegle, Iaso, Aceso and Achelois and three brothers, Machaon, Podalirius and Telephorus. Her paternal grandparents are Apollo, the Olympian god of the sun and Coronis, a mortal princess of Thessaly.

Role[]

She and her sisters who form The Asclepiades, are attendants to their father, Asclepius joining him in checking on and diagnosing mortals and helping them to heal and/or recover from any ailments.
