Pasithea is the Goddess of rest, relaxation, meditation and hallucinations and one of the Younger Graces.

Genealogy and Family[]

Though the Graces are usually said to be the daughters of Zeus and Eurynome, Pasithea's parentage is given by Nonnus as Hera and Dionysus. She is the wife of Hypnos, and the mother of The Oneiroi: Morpheus (Dreams), Phobetor (Nightmares) Phantasos (Inanimate objects in Prophetic dreams) and Ikelos (People in Prophetic dreams).

Stories[]

Pasithea is promised as a wife to Hypnos, God of Sleep by Hera, in return of Hypnos fulfilling Hera a favour of putting Zeus to sleep with his powers during a war. After he completed the mission, Hypnos and Pasithea are married to each other.

Personality[]

Pasithea is a calm, relaxed and therapeutic Goddess whose personality and powers work hand in hand with those of her husband, Hypnos.

Trivia[]

Pasithea is sometimes classified as a Grace.

Pasithea means "acquired goddess" and is spelt Πασιθεα in Greek.
