The Lampades are Nymphs of the Underworld and the companions of Hecate, the Greek goddess of witchcraft and crossroads, The Lampades assist their mistress, accompanying her on her night time travels and hauntings and baring lamps with light capable of turning a person to madness. The group also serve other underworld goddesses like Persephone. They were given as a gift from Zeus to Hecate, for her loyalty from the Titan Wars.
